BDO webinar: International tax update for Chinese multinational enterprises was successfully held on 16 April 2024.

Carol Lam, Director and Head of Tax, kicked off the webinar by delivering an opening remark to the participants and introducing the significant changes in the international tax environment resulting from unprecedented international tax co-ordination between governments, jurisdictions introducing new tax regulations and taxpayers facing greater compliance obligations. Abigail Li, Director of Tax together with Ziyue Xie, Senior Manager of Tax from BDO Hong Kong, provided an overview of the global minimum tax and Hong Kong minimum top-up tax. They discussed areas where PRC and HK multinational enterprise groups are likely to be impacted through engaging case studies, reviewed Hong Kong profits tax and other compliance obligations under the proposed implementations by Hong Kong, and shared suggestions and information taxpayers can use to assess the impacts and prepare for these coming rules. Emily Li, Principal of Transfer Pricing Services from BDO China covered the latest Transfer Pricing (TP) regulatory environment and TP practice in China.
